Melodic minor scales follow the key signature of the scale&#8217;s relative major.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The relative major key of A-flat minor is C-flat major. Therefore, A-flat minor has seven flats (B\u266d, E\u266d, A\u266d, D\u266d, G\u266d, C\u266d, F\u266d) and F\u266d and G\u266d are the sixth and seventh notes. So, we raise F\u266d and G\u266d to F and G when ascending the melodic minor scale, and we lower them back to F\u266d and G\u266d when descending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center
