And they sound beautiful!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You want to practice your arpeggios&#8230;but practicing anything over and over can sound boring. So, we&#8217;ve introduced an<em> epic<\/em> and<em> cinematic<\/em> way to practice your arpeggios in this lesson. Here&#8217;s what that looks like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Section A:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-text-color has-large-font-size\" style=\"color:#f61a30\"><strong>F#m &#8211; D &#8211; A &#8211; C#<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Section B:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-text-color has-large-font-size\" style=\"color:#f61a30\"><strong>D &#8211; Dm &#8211; A &#8211; C#<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beginners: if you&#8217;re new to chording, check out our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pianote.com\/blog\/all-piano-chords\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">How to Play All Piano Chords<\/a> lesson or check out some of the other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pianote.com\/blog\/chord-theory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">chording lessons<\/a> on this site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"variations\" style=\"font-size:28px\"><strong>Variations<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re new to these chords, start with just playing and holding the chords in their root position first. Then, play these chords broken. Then, once you&#8217;re familiar with the notes, try some variations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Travel up and down. <\/strong>You can transition from F#m to the D chord in the octave above <em>or<\/em> below.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Left hand bass. <\/strong>When you&#8217;re ready, add the root note of each chord in the bass with your left hand.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Two-octave arpeggios. <\/strong>If you&#8217;re up for a challenge, start playing two-octave arpeggios! Remember: relax your wrist, release any attention, and try to be as flexible as possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Left hand power chords.<\/strong> I also experiment with playing broken power chords (such as D-A-D for my D major chord) in my left hand. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Faster tempo. <\/strong>At some point, the backing track tempo will increase! Gradually work up to this tempo.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also switch the focus between your right and left hands. Or play broken chords hands together. Allow for some rotation and movement in your wrist and forearm.
