Originally titled \u201cInterlude,\u201d the song was in the middle of Vanessa Carlton\u2019s demo CD, which was destined for the slush pile until producer Ron Fair heard it at the last minute. The rest is history. The song peaked at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/vanessa-carlton\/chart-history\/hsi\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/vanessa-carlton\/chart-history\/hsi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">#5<\/a> on Billboard and was part of an iconic scene in the movie <em>White Chicks<\/em>. And it\u2019s a neat one, making use of the knuckles to roll an F# major pentatonic scale. The origins of this song are blurry, but it\u2019s been attributed to the music comedy group Barry &amp; the Bookbinders. Here\u2019s a <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/krYIK6BEEGQ?si=rmIdtN9DR-1iZpng\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">neat duet version<\/a> of the song with a catchy melody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"6-canon-in-d-johann-pachelbel\" style=\"font-size:28px\"><strong>6.
