This is a happy, cheerful holiday song, and I\u2019m very excited to teach it to you! \ud83d\ude4c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;ve got a bit of a jazzier arrangement on this one with some more advanced chords, but don\u2019t be concerned: I&#8217;ve got the <a href=\"https:\/\/d1923uyy6spedc.cloudfront.net\/278511-resource-1607701344.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">full sheet music for you<\/a>, and some handy tips along the way, so you can bring a little extra holiday cheer to the piano this season!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.unsplash.com\/photo-1577268173819-d36a3378f8d8?ixlib=rb-1.2.1&amp;ixid=MnwxMjA3fDB8MHxwaG90by1wYWdlfHx8fGVufDB8fHx8&amp;auto=format&amp;fit=crop&amp;w=2064&amp;q=80\" alt=\"Nighttime photo of a small church in snowy landscape with glowing christmas tree in yard.\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:28px\"><strong>Let it Snow \u2744\ufe0f<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=RWTQqpYBHQ8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!<\/a>&#8220;, also known as simply \u201dLet It Snow&#8221;, is a song written by lyricist <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sammy_Cahn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sammy Cahn<\/a> and composer <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jule_Styne\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jule Styne<\/a> in July 1945. It was actually written in California during a heat-wave as Cahn and Styne imagined cooler conditions. \ud83c\udf1e\ud83c\udf1e\ud83c\udf1e<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the lyrics making no mention of any holiday, the song has become one of the most recognized Christmas songs in North America due to its winter theme, being played on radio stations during the holiday season, and having often been covered by various artists on Christmas-themed albums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"blue-text-block\">\ud83d\udca1\ud83e\udde0<i><b>Interesting Stuff:<\/b> South of the equator, this classic is popular in the months of June, July, and August. In New Zealand, some play it at <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Matariki\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Matariki<\/a> (A new year\u2019s celebration).<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:28px\"><strong>Getting Started \ud83c\udfb9\ud83d\udcdd<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The song is in the key of F Major, which includes just 1 flat. Watch out though, some of the chord voicings will ask you to break this rule!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<center><b>F, G, A, B\u266d, C, D, E <\/b><\/center>\n\n\n\n<p>To begin, get familiar and practice the top melody. I recommend going through it in 2-4 bar chunks so you can spend the time and really get to know it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ll take some extra time with you on bars 1 through 9, as it\u2019s the real \u2018theme\u2019 of the song, and it will help to cement the rest of the piece in your mind. Don\u2019t be intimidated by some of the more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pianote.com\/blog\/complicated-chords\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">complicated-looking chords<\/a>.
