This song is EPIC, and you may be surprised to learn that it&#8217;s actually quite straightforward. All you have to learn is a few basic chords and you&#8217;re practically good to go!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;ve also provided the full sheet music for those of you who want to play something closer to the original.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And remember, just because a song is straightforward doesn&#8217;t mean it will be boring to play. Play these with your left hand. Instead of a triad, try playing a power chord shape. This is the root (Eb), fifth (Bb), and another root note (Eb).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If this shape is too challenging, it&#8217;s totally okay to play a standard E Flat Major triad instead (Eb-G-Bb) or a smaller power chord that&#8217;s just the fifth (Eb-Bb).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Chorus<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;ve written out individual notes of the chorus an octave higher so they&#8217;re easier to read. We play chords on our right hand that you know by now: Gm, Ebmaj7, Bb, F, Gm etc. On the left hand, we&#8217;ll play a dotted rhythm with the bass note.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coordinating the right and left hand <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pianote.com\/blog\/piano-lesson-from-drummer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rhythms<\/a> can be a little trickier, so here&#8217;s the rhythm written out:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.musora.com\/musora-cdn\/image\/quality=85\/https:\/\/pianote.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com\/blog\/2021\/Driver%27s%20License\/driver%27s%20license%20bridge.png\" alt=\"Counting mark-up of the bridge to &quot;Driver's License&quot; by Olivia Rodrigo.\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>An easier way to play this (that&#8217;s totally acceptable!) is to just hold the bass note \ud83d\ude0e<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Practice Tips for &#8220;Drivers License&#8221; by Olivia Rodrigo<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ready for an adventure? To get the most out of this song, here are a few tips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Get dramatic with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pianote.com\/blog\/what-are-dynamics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dynamics<\/a>!<\/strong> The chorus riff on the right hand is absolutely GORGEOUS and you can make it even more epic by expressing it with dynamics. Some of us just have smaller hands.
