Christmas music is the BEST! Maybe not everyone shares my opinion but I love it!

To get you in the Christmas spirit, we’ve got a lesson on how to play Joy To The World. The great thing about Christmas music is that it is familiar. Some of us have been hearing these songs since childhood and they are very much a part of us.

This gives us a hand up when we go to learn them. Our ear will be able to help us find the notes that are right and tell us when we are playing them wrong. It will also help us to understand the rhythm without having to really count it out first!

This lesson presents the song in two ways. You have sheet music to help you sight read the song if you prefer to sight read. You also have chords so that you can use those to design your own left-hand accompaniment while you play the melody, OR you can use chords only and play an accompaniment for yourself while you or your friends and family sing along!

A great thing about this song is that it fits really nicely under the hand. It opens with a descending scale and remains simple all the way through. Try learning it as written and then adding some personal touches to make it your own!
